Car wrapping

Got my MX5 back today. I'm very happy with the colour. I did think wrapping a car would be interesting in its own right - looking at it now I have picked it up, it may be a small car but the bonnet is a large single panel and there are loads of details which would have made it a real faff. So credit to Ben at Wrap Kings for doing a great job.
Some better pictures (and locations) to follow when I'm not just stuck in the office, but for now:
On my computer monitor it looks quite blue but next to blue cars it looks more obviously teal. It's a lovely sort of peacock blue.
First impressions: well, I actually miss the grey a bit! I did choose that colour after all. But I like the fact that it's more individual and would have chosen this, or something similar, had it been available. I don't think it looks particularly aftermarket. It definitely catches the eye more, and makes me more visible to other traffic - that's not a bad thing. There is a slight orange-peel to it close up which I understand gets better as it sits in the sun, warms up and the film relaxes. Ben did extend the wrap quite a long way inside the door, bonnet and boot shuts but there's still a bit of grey visible when you open them - you could choose to pay a lot more to wrap those bits but I don't think it's worthwhile when they are almost always hidden.
Overall, would I wrap a car again? I think probably not, but I'm glad I've done so. The paintwork is well protected now anyway.

I forgot the thing which did annoy me. I wore a pink shirt today and it clashes with the teal

Oops.

That's a lovely colour, IMO the wheels would look better in a lighter colour against the blue though

That was my intention but having picked it up I think I'll keep it on the BBS wheels, looking OEM other than the colour, for a little while. But I do have my eye on these - import only and therefore pricey, unfortunately:
OK, this is an RF in a different colour on differently coloured wheels but this is the same wheel in the right size/offset, and I think it's on standard suspension so the same ride height:

They're cool wheels, would look good against the blue.
I always thought a set of the TE37s suited the MX5, Forza is a good way of playing with wheels to see what suits what cars.

it looks quite “Estoril” on screen - i definitely prefer the grey!

Did you have the top of the door cards wrapped blue or was it like that from factory? Quite like that.

The top of the door cards and a little fillet at the end of the dash are body colour from the factory. Would have looked very odd if I hadn't had it done so they were wrapped too. Don't think I have a photo of the interior before; here's a bad one from a google:
Rich, it is definitely not Estoril in the flesh. Much more of a peacock blue. Weird how the monitor takes away so much of the green hue.

Doesn’t look aftermarket, nice job.

Yeah, think the wheels need changing and I preferred it in the grey, but that’s purely subjective, so the only thing that matters is whether you prefer it.

I think the OEM wheels are a good design - they are just lost in their blackness. Switching them to a lighter shade would make a huge difference imho.

It reminds me of the NC Sport Graphite edition, which is no bad thing

I chose the colour before I was aware of that NC special, but yes - and I’d go for one of those if I wanted an NC.

I like the colour a lot, but it does make the tyres look more visible than the wheels. I think I’d have to get the wheels painted silver.

I’m not sure silver would work so well because it has black windscreen surround and mirrors. I’m tempted by grey or even black alloys with a silver rim.

Couple more photos with the roof down and of the interior:
I have the alcantara interior coming (6 week delivery timescale from Japan) - that covers the dash centre rail and door cards. Made a good attempt to kerb one of the alloys outside my office this morning - the gun metallic finish is pretty hard, fortunately, but the prominence of the rims may sway me into new alloys before long.

I like it. Stands out well. (The grey was also lovely)
Wheels... silver, bronze, gold, white, ...?
