Stepping on plugs

I haven't enjoyed a good plug-stepping for decades. 
This morning I had to hoover, pulled the plug out of the wall and dropped it beside the hoover so I could press the "reel in the cable mofo" button.
Except I then tripped over the cable, causing the plug to be pulled sharply away from the hoover, and I recovered from my trip to find myself putting my full weight onto the large pin of said plug as is slid under my heel.
No blood, but it's all swollen up like there is a big blood blister underneath.
What. A dick.
