Both filed for bankruptcy. Maybe my MX5 with Recaro seats and BBS wheels will be one of the last to carry those names. Doesn't bode well for Brembo whose name is on the brakes.
Surely the brand names will be worth quite a bit so won't die. Who knows how good the products may be in future though?

BBS have been bankrupt more times than I've had hot dinners.
Surprised about Recaro though, given how often they provide stuff to manufacturers, would have thought they'd have been on nice retainers.

Exactly those thoughts. Have seen Recaro seats on planes too, so they clearly don’t have all their eggs in the automotive basket.

Reading their wiki page it seems the automotive division has been moved on and sold a few times and is separate from Aviation. Most recently sold on again in 2020. Their car child seat division seems to be separate again and it looks like they have a gaminig seat division.

Do they have a football stadium division as well?
Those are made by automotive.

I was wondering who still fitted them, I could only think of Ford STs in the last decade.
Found https://www.recaro-automotive.com/en/oem/ - seems to mostly be very small volume stuff or an expensive option on most. Used to seem like they were on a lot of hotter stuff a while ago - even my Alfa 156 from the early 00s had Recaros.

I love the Recaros in my old Nova SR
Even though they rattled about a bit

Even the 500e seats were Recaro so I always assumed they made a lot of car seats in general not just their branded ones.

My first VW beetle was totally slammed with a massive sound system and had Recaros too. They were really supportive and comfortable while smoking a J in McDonalds carpark while playing Alex Reece Pulp Fiction loud enough to make my eyeballs vibrate.

I used to mix Toni Basil's "Hey Mickey" over that
Always went down a treat
Cracking track
That's hilarious reminds me of the time we met Pat Murray who played Mickey Pearce on Only Fools and Horses in our local bar and took him back to a house party at our place to get mashed up. We were all singing "Hey Mickey" in the back of the cab
