It’s been with us for a while and I’m seeing pronounced change in the behaviour of drivers at side turnings. They’re defintely slowing and giving more space, it’s now quite common for them to stop and allow pedestrians to cross before they turn in/out of a side road. Really pleased this is happening, it definitely feels good as a pedestrian and promotes more considerate driving.
“At a junction you should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning.”

I turn off a main road through town into my street and have noticed no difference, the rare pedestrian who acts like they are wanting to cross do so with a cheery wave when I stop but don’t seem to expect it. Most people stop and want you to drive through. I’ve not changed how I’ve taught my kids how to cross roads and junctions.
I was expecting a few idiots making a point of staring down cars and wandering into the road but haven’t seen any of it.
The only difference with driving in Market Deeping is the cyclists have become more twatish, the pedestrians seem just as sensible as before.
Dave!

I think you've seen a difference because you're in London, Gav - not sure I've noticed any great change in the shires.

My experience is that I'm the only person round here that is aware anything changed. I think the wife is getting tired of me telling her about it every time I avoid injury by holding my ground on the pavement to avoid turning cars.

Its largely the same here, pedestrians don't seem to be aware of it so you get a weird standoff or just confused looks all round often leading to other cars getting annoyed and losing patience.
