What is the minimum standard to qualify for 'flying colours' in the context of an MOT pass

Following Dave!'s contention in the fleet running reports thread about our Yeti MOT pass, it seems there might be some confusion around what 'flying colours' really means when declaring. What say you?

IMO

Passed with flying colours: easy pass, no advisories.

Sailed through the MOT: pass, couple of minor advisories.
