I needed a poll fix, so....
I have no idea why anyone would choose a 912 over a 911, but that's not really relevant.
Post is on Xtwatter, but images re-pasted for anyone that doesn't have an XTwatter account.
1. Steelie-look alloys mit hubcaps (16")
2. Steelie-look alloys sans hubcaps (16"). aka the correct choice
3. Fuchs style (15")
4. 917-style (15")

I prefer the hubcap jobs, but would nod appreciatively at all of those TBF.

I think any of the first three work well - the final ones are nice but make the car look more modern (I think) which might not be what you're going for.

1,2&3 are good. 4 is awful.

1 and 2 look OK in those images but they're CGI and I bet steelie-look alloys look fat and crude compared to actual steel wheels. Fuchs for me.

3 for me. Steelies covering brake calipers, especially nice ones is a no no for me.

They all look fine but 2 is the best.

Hub caps are Carbon Fibre apparently.

No2.
And by using the 4 cylinder gives cheaper donor parts and a lighter and less rear bias. There's been some cracking articles on them.

im not a fan, but even if i were, they'd still be completely wrong on a period car with big sidewall tyres.
Like wearing bright red trainers with a tweed 3 piece suit.

Ah, luckily you're all wrong. 4 is acceptable if the car is modified either inside or out in my opinion. Plenty of race inspired subtly modded 911s of that vintage that would look great on those IMHO.

That picture makes them look like Tamiya-sized and the texture of the carbon looks like a rough draft 3D print.

I was struggling with that image too - the far away rim of the wheel is in almost-sharp focus, but the rocks that are the same distance from the camera are blurred. It's messing with my melon.

Which is a fair "plus", but the absence of the epic flat-6 soundtrack creates a massively bigger "minus" (for me).
