Wow - interesting. I guess they think media is the future...

Possibly also buying the reputation of evo- access to borrowing people’s cars could also be a factor behind the purchase

Have they struggled with that previously?

All he seems to do is rag cars up air strips anyway, big yawn from me tbh.

Find their F40 "Drag race " video. It's terrible. F40 guy is short shifting in every race just as it comes on boost.

Matt Watson is the car guy for NCGs

If they can afford Evo, they can afford something other than a stick to test where to not an exhaust pipe is real or fake.

And stretch 2 minutes of driving with 8 minutes of waffle.

I don't think that's too unreasonable - there's no way he's going to risk breaking it. He does cane most things. And the direct comparison between cars is quite interesting; the McLaren 720S v 750S last week showed there's no more performance in the new one, for instance.

I tried to watch that one, but had to turn it off.
Straight drag race is pretty mind numbing at the best of times, but whilst I fully appreciate the desire to avoid breaking the eye-wateringly expensive car(s) - nannying the start and then short shifting at around 5500rpm (based on a very short snipped where I could see the rev counter) tells viewers absolutely nothing about what the car(s) is (are) capable of. They did 2x standing quarters in the F40 at 13.8 seconds. I understand a standard F40 would be expected to be capable of doing this in more like 11.7 seconds.
This made me screw my face up. The start against the Viper at 6mins45 is arguably worse. Not for me.....

Yeah, if you can't find someone who's prepared to let you kick the everloving shit out of their cars for a video like this, then don't do the video.
I think when Chris Harris did his F40 + F50 video, the owner explicitly told him to give the cars absolute laldy.

It's all very well to rev them outand drift them on a circuit, but there's no way Harris would be doing a standing start side-stepping the clutch and flat shifting an F40 either. Most of the time Ma Twatson does give the cars abuse and I really don't want him to with a 30+yr old EB110 and F40.

You'd better not watch this 3yr old vid of Tiffany doing exactly that then. As he notes - dropping the clutch with a load of revs & boost dialed in is generally less stressful on the drivetrain. He messes up the shift into 2nd though.....

Not sure I see the point of owning a super car if you're afraid to use it.

Fair enough, I hadn’t watched the EB110/F40 race and it was shit. But it is not at all representative of most of the Carwow drag races. There’s genuine needle between Ma and Yanni and Sam the racing driver.

It tells viewers it is very capable of breaking down if you use a heavy right foot

I enjoy carwow.. he’s done some good work with EV’s until they’re dead and I enjoy the strip work.. he’s not a racing driver, so I don’t expect him to be doing lap time comparisons.
The stick of truth highlights a pet hate of mine, so gets my approval aswell.
