Car Plans 2024
Re: Car Plans 2024
My aim for this year is to get some new front tyres for the Smart.
Booked them on Blackcircles for fitting Thursday.
That's 2024 wrapped! The rest of the year can only exceed my expectations.

MOT on Monday then I’ll make a decision as to whether the A5 goes. It’s been a great car for seven years and trouble free but it’s on 130k now and a few things are beginning to fail. I’ve considered:
F Pace: reliability puts me off
Tesla Model 3: Can’t charge at home so daft idea.
R8: daft idea.
I’ll probably get a new(er) A5, Sportback this time.

Not normally, but we’ve been told we need to go back to two days in the office from this year so that’ll be 8k miles pa alone.
WFH full time for the last three years opened up some great car buying opportunities which I’ve massively failed to capitalise on
Re: Car Plans 2024
Been thinking about cars since the beginning of the year. I quite fancy a 991.2 (as well as the S6) but think I'd end up in the same position as I was with my 330i Touring and Boxster: both good for everyday use and I'd end up using the more practical one all the time.
My two genuine want-one vehicles at the moment are an Artic Trucks Hilux and a Honda E. It's good to have irrational desires.

No great plans for change this year. I keep eyeing 981 GT4's as that or a V6 exige feel like the only thing that would be an upgrade from the elise. Im £30k short for a GT4 and £20k short for a sport 350 Exige. So that's not happening unless the lotto comes calling.
Mrs A likes her Yellow R57 so that'll stay. Needs brakes doing imminently. Pad wear sensor came on this morning.
The 128ti i really like. So no plans for it to go anywhere either.

Re: Car Plans 2024
Need Haynes to get in on this and make an actual 3D guide showing you exactly what to do. Then once you’ve disassembled the entire engine and gearbox it says “now do the reverse to assemble” and that’s everyone screwed
How about not having a sig at all?

Re: Car Plans 2024
I never got round to selling the motorhome last year but its now gone to a dealer sale or return so hopefully it will be gone by Spring.
^ that was part of the reason i never got round to even looking at a toy plus 2 teenage kids still seem to occupy a huge amount of my time. Currently its the youngest learning to drive but even that should come to an end in Spring.
The i3s will stay as I love it, its surprisingly practical as a family run around yet I still grin like I'm hooning around in a 80'S hot hatch hence bald rear tyres at 10k miles which I need to address.
I've been mindful since lockdown that I need to make more time for myself so the intention is still to get a Cayman or possibly an Alpine if I fit. 996's still appeal but they seem to appeal to lots of others as well now!
I'll be pretty annoyed with myself if this goes nowhere this year

Re: Car Plans 2024
I've finally started my new job this week, it's a bit of a trek to the new place and it was pitched as needing to be on site 2 days pw. Not the end of the world but a bit of a pain and quite a few ££s on petrol as I don't have any sensible cars any more. I'm going in for the first time tomorrow.
But from talking to a couple of people today, they live much further away than I do, and only go in occasionally. Assuming it works out the same for me (no reason it shouldn't) that means the Bentley can stay

First day at an old employer the Golf was in for a service or something. I ended up taking the Lotus. Started an interesting conversation with my new manager who was also a bit of a car nerd. "What you driving?" err that... "Oh..Nice" it then appeared on one of the Lotus FB groups I was in under a spotted threadIanF wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:30 pmTake a different car every day for the first couple of weeks?..Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:28 pm I've finally started my new job this week, it's a bit of a trek to the new place and it was pitched as needing to be on site 2 days pw. I double dare you to roll up to your first day in the Bentley and park in the disabled space out front.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:28 pm I've finally started my new job this week, it's a bit of a trek to the new place and it was pitched as needing to be on site 2 days pw. If I did that at my current place I’d be met with “Fucking contractors, too much money.” while they’re getting out of their £30k Fords.scotta wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 3:06 pm First day at an old employer the Golf was in for a service or something.
