25 Years

Post by IanF »

Reading the latest EVO mag, which is celebrating 25 years, and there’s an interesting article with a list of the top 25 seismic cars (itho).
Spoiler
And can’t believe a Ferrari was number 1.. although it is the car I’d buy in a heartbeat if I could afford it! A red 458 Speciale is probably my perfect Ferrari and will go great with my 812 Competizione after my lottery win!
Interesting reading about their choices and I reckon we’d all come up with a similar line up (of Evo cars) although maybe not in the same order. Anyone else read it?

Maybe we can run a poll (@mik next month and pick our own top 5?
Cheers,

Ian

I can still remember buying issue one (it was in WH Smith's in Welshpool - I was there for a weekend, visiting a friend)

I too was quite surprised at the car they picked - given how many incredible machines they've driven over the years

It was a bit "meh" for me

I wonder where we'll all be, what the world will look like in another 25 years' time?

Cheers Dinny!

That list is… eclectic. :?

What’s the definition of a “seismic car”?

There's no real criteria defined but it does make for interesting reading.

Why that Impreza, why that Evo, why the Vanquish when the DB9 was half the price and not much different. Why the Ford GT at all when they were rife with issues. Why nothing light - no Caterham's, no Lotus etc

At the end of the day, you ask journalists to come up with 25 of anything and "they couldnee agree on the colour of shite" as Hamish would said.

No lotus Elise but 5 warm / hot hatches? Bizarre.

I’m sure most of the time they make these lists a bit controversial on purpose to get people talking about it, drive people to engage with their social media, maybe, maybe even buy a copy to look for themselves?
Cheers, Harry
