Just had a few updates done on our Ferrari F40:

Thoughts? The ceramic brakes a good idea?

If it’s reversible and makes the car more usable then those two mods really are the definition of a no brainer

Interesting post.. I’ve used DK Eng for several years and they are exceptionally good at looking after cars and their owners.
I remember reading, possibly in Evo, that there’s a few good arguments for using ceramics on roads (less dust, longer lasting, less unsprung weight?) and standard brakes on track where you’re far more often replacing tyres/pads etc so replacing the whole assembly isn’t that much more work.
Anything that increases the actual usage of the car can only be a good thing in my eyes, so I’m more than happy with
your enhancements to
your car!

Anything which improves the drive is a bonus. Rivet counters be damned.

Tanks seem like a very sensible swap.
I always assume steel rotors are most suited to road work, so very interesting to read your comments. Sound like a real upgrade. I wasn’t fully aware of DKEng until @Maurice purchased his current Exige from them - they seem to be the global expert in F40’s.

How's the pedal feel with the new anchors? I assume much better

I see DK list this (brake) kit on their website at £POA.
As you also don’t mention a ballpark cost in your update, I assume the price is appropriately aligned with the value of an F40?

Hopefully you have reconciled this as “reassuringly expensive”

Fantastic outfit to deal with and would happily buy from them again.
Still annoyed I couldn’t manage a tour round their place.

I w dear if the same can be done for the XJ220, they have pretty terrible brakes by all accounts.

Just contact them or even pop in if passing.. I did and they were happy to walk me around and explain what they were doing etc. Everyone who works there is a car nut and conversation isn’t limited to just what’s there, but also racing, their own cars..
