Daan Saaf OV9 Meet

Post by GG. »

So it seemed like a number of people were interested in a meet at some point. Where has critical mass? Cotswolds? West Sussex? or somewhere in between (Rich B country)?

One weekend in August perhaps? Let me know what you guys think / who is in.

If only a prolific poster round these parts knew how to do a poll...

I don't think you can add a poll after? Anyway, West Sussex, Surrey, Hertfordshire all work for me. Between summer holidays and birthdays, August is quite busy for me.

That may be the case for lots of people. Perhaps September is a better shout...

I'd be keen, my August is better than my September, but hopefully I can make the agreed date. North or west of London probably best for me, but if I'm free and have time, may well come if it's Sussex / Surrey too.

Good thing about the Cotswolds is I can probably still find @Jobbo's old route plans on my email! :D

Haha, can literally click on Simon's old maps link and it still plots the whole route from 2011! Ah, the wonders of modern technology.

I think this was the trip everyone did when some silly cow ripped the front bumper off the 997 the week before and I couldn't go :(

Up for it, dependent on date. Not the first weekend in August though please and thank you.

That’s quite a late one - there are probably a few others further east/north. Harry’s road (Burford-Charlbury) used to feature regularly and is still good fun; bit of a pain to link to this one.

I would definitely add the B-roads west of Wantage to this one though - wiggly tight one past Uffington Castle and a couple over Lambourn downs which Autocar often seem to use now.

I should be up for a meet anyway 😃

Sounds good - looks like we're gravitating to Oxfordshire way on then.

What do people think to 12/13 or 19/20 August then?

Neither of those work for me, sadly.

Yeah I'd be up for something like this

NB: I'm Captain Slow when it comes to driving though, I won't be tearing around the place

The 12th August is the Pistonheads 25th thing which I think a few off here are attending.

10 years ago we were mature enough to be sensible, so I'm hoping we still are!

Do we need a separate thread for this? There's a group going who YK had kind of organised too. Would be good if we could get together somehow, dunno if we could just meet locally and drive in together or what.. :?

I should drag myself out to this. Can't do 19th/20th but the rest of Aug looks clear.

Reason for busy on 19th is we've got tickets for the motorshow at Farnborough, which is also a good day out:
