The lack of tapas
The lack of tapas
When holidaying has anyone noticed that the places they once visited now don't do free tapas?
Is it a recession thing? Or tourism ruining once quiet local focused destinations?

Re: The lack of tapas
I had 4 days in Monaco and bugger all was free (and I spotted no tapas)
Re: The lack of tapas
I spent a year travelling and never got any free tapas.
Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: The lack of tapas
I walked to the local co-op and never got any free tapas.
Re: The lack of tapas
I only remember getting the odd free thing in Portugal. As for France/Monaco they would sometimes hand out a bunch of stuff with the menu but then if you ate it they would charge you. Then I noticed that almost no one touches it and they keep recycling it from table to table
Shitty breadsticks in Italy, that’s free

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: The lack of tapas
Inspired by your post, I started investigating what it would take to open a pop-up restaurant that might meet this need.
I went to BQ to get letters to make a big “FREE TAPAS” sign, and since I am not going to make much money out of this venture - asked if they had any slightly damaged ones that they could give me for free?
They checked in the back, but advised that the only letters they had spelt “FEAR PASTE”, and they were £10 a letter.
So I didn’t bother

Re: The lack of tapas
My parents went to get free tapas and all I got was this lousy t-shirt*.

Re: The lack of tapas
I had the same thoughts/issues and ended opening an Italian seafood restaurant instead called REEF PASTA with what they sent me.mik wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 10:16 pm Inspired by your post, I started investigating what it would take to open a pop-up restaurant that might meet this need.

Re: The lack of tapas
Unfortunately I ended up having to call my restaurant “Rape Feast”

Re: The lack of tapas
all because there wasn't any spare feta
Re: The lack of tapas
Did this go as you expected Broccers?
Re: The lack of tapas
Obviously if you're travelling to sanitised TUI all inclusive with your famalam this subject is harder to grasp.
Re: The lack of tapas
I went all the way to fuck - which I’m sure plenty of us have told broccers to get to - Still no free tapas.
Re: The lack of tapas
I've travelled extensively whilst wearing my Casio G Shock GS1100 and have never received any free Tapas. It's a tragedy.
