Use of the word curated
Gin Collection, "Specially Curated""
Music Mix on the Radio, "curated" by some prick
etc. etc.
Curated = "Wanker version of Selected"

Correct.
And on a tangent, this reminds me of my favourite thing right now - taking pretty much any adjective that my wife uses and saying "I did something <adjective> this morning". As a euphemism for pooing. It works especially well with descriptions of wine - warm & rounded, rich and fragrant, etc, etc.

Re: Use of the word curated
When I went round the Tate Modern with my wife last February, I commented to her that it had been very badly curated. I think that was an appropriate use.
Re: Use of the word curated
Is this the right thread for an old man angry at words?
An absolute unit
Re: Use of the word curated
Ok, the usage is a bit flowery but it's not incorrect in most instances. The collections are curated, the products made by small batch producers are artisanal and/or craft.
Marketing is annoying but I tend to cut small companies trying to make something well a bit of slack.
Saying that, craft beer is starting to become an oxymoron as the folk who were at the forefront of the scene grow into vast businesses.

Also in art the role of the curator has risen massively over the last couple of decades, to the point that it's become a very popular career choice for sub-par artists. It's got to the point where sometimes the curator's prominence is placed above that of the artist/s in a show... which is the wrong way around.
Re: Use of the word curated
True...ish but the use us just Pleonasm.. ( - guess who's been hanging round in Dictionary Apps for this thread)
Of course the Gin Collection of the record Mix is "selected, organized, and presented using professional or expert knowledge". They're not going to get Dave from IT or Bill the Security Guard to select the gins for the latest promotion.
I do think "Artisan" is over used though as most Artisan Bread and Cheese makers will use modern methods and machinery - they're just made in small batches
Edit - apparently Small Batches is enough to call yourself Artisan

"Procure" or "source" when buying something normal (like a car).
Re: Use of the word curated
I have failed to procure any fucks to curate on this subject.
Re: Use of the word curated
I bought a red car:
I have spent some time and research and sourced, then ultimately have procured a little Renault sport Twingo in red colourway
