Most powerful car you've driven

Yes power/weight is far more important, but you're not all going to sit and calculate that are you? No. I didn't think so.

So what's the most powerful car you've driven? Yes you can count "experience" days, even though they are usually pretty pony. No you can't count p-rides.

Most powerful car I have owned so far is the VXR8 - circa 440bhp with exhaust and intake mods.

Being allowed to take out crazy Pete @revsRus's 600LT (with 600PS/592bhp) slots me in at #8, but I accept this is cheating somewhat as I drove it in the cold (circa 3-4 DegC) where even above 100 (kph obviously ossifer) deploying full throttle in 4th created as much wheelspin as forward motion - so I haven't experienced it's true capability.

I like those categories, the Bentley is 552bhp and puts me in the same group :-)

(if you would care to do a poll on torque, can the top category be 1000+ Nm please ? Because Q7)

Paul's (I think you know him Mik) Gen-F VXR8. Out of the box they're 550ish BHP. He'd been to Walkinshaw for a cam, pulley and remap (amongst other supportings mods) and it was in the 700s. I think close to 800bhp but I can't remember the exact figure.

I was hugely intimidated by the output figure, but actually it was very progressive to drive. 3rd and 4th gear would suit almost any road. Utterly fantastic powertrain, with a manual gearbox too!

Actually driven, it's probably Coasters GT3 for me ~400hp.

Without thinking too hard about it, a Diablo SV which had 517bhp. I have a Porsche Experience day coming up so I wonder if they have anything I can try with over 600bhp?

Most powerful car I've owned was 340bhp.

400 odd for both the E92 M3 and my mates 996 Turbo.

Both fairly modest these days but the 996 was savage to a ton and i just checked that they do it in circa 8sec which is still rapid 8-)

I am the embarrassment of the forum. I shall hang my head in shame and see myself out

I'm not sure I've driven anything much more than 400bhp, which is pretty odd considering that my daily drivers for most of the last decade have had over 400bhp.

Fastest thing I've ever driven was a supercharged atom though - but that only had 300bhp.

Pretty low to be fair, r400 / Ariel Atom but savage nevertheless.

Atom for me as well, but non supercharged so around 245bhp with 462kg (dry weight), around 530bhp/tonne. The problem with adding a driver (and then instructor) is a good 40% is added to the weight even before fuel and other fluids.

Most powerful is an original Gallardo so around 490bhp. The Atom felt a hell of a lot faster still but probably less intimidating at first with it being so open.

My R400 was the fastest thing I've ever driven, followed by my Exige S.

Why can't we have a PTWR one of these instead? Is it that hard to calculate?

I don't think I've driven anything very powerful, maybe 300bhp-odd. I've done a few experience days, but again I went for Caterham type stuff over Porsches, Lambos etc because I figured it would be more fun and closer to the limit. I should probably do a day with some powerful cars just to tick the box.

650hp in the FF. Incredibly rapid for such a big car. Made my 911 feel like it actually was a beetle.

I've checked with @Matty , and I have good news. From 15:18 today onwards, everyone else will be able to create polls too. :geek:

Gallardo at an experience day. On the road it was a truck with a 5.7L Hemi.

602bhp courtesy of the Bentley Continental. Seems like an average figure now with all the crazy power EVs coming out.

My Boxster 😢 (280bhp).

I can’t think of anything really powerful I’ve been a passenger in either. 380bhp Supra for about 1.5 miles.
