With a V8 engine. Fuck yes. I've found a real enjoyment in cars despite the morons on the road

V8 mustang pulled up at the lights as I returned from dug walk tonight.
He saw my smile and gave it a few beans appropriately. Lovely.

Convertibles also bring out the worst in people. Saw a morbidly obese woman with purple hair sprawled across both seats of her convertible Vauxhall Astra

I just hope with them now being available in RHD they don't ever fall into the chav category or we'll lose out on that/I can afford one as a project and bolt a supercharger on it

Roof up and it's just like a coupe, the modern roof fabrics are genuinely very very good. We've had the roof down a lot, literally anything above 0C and dry, it's fair game.

Convertibles in the shape of diesels and Vauxhalls should be banned, in fact they could be used as a test to weed out those who are going to buy one and drag the image down.

You probably haven't had the weather yet for a night drive with the roof down. I tended to prefer those to very hot days and/or days with high UV when I felt like I was cooking. Bright sunny winter days were excellent also.
The Mustang which I had in Cali last year didn't seem to have a wind deflector, which made any journey with the roof down at speed fairly uncomfortable.

Eh? I'm even more convinced you never actually drove a Mustang out there. Ours is fine, you can have a conversation in the car without raising your voice at 70mph. It doesn't really become an issue until you're in license lost territory*
You weren't driving round with the windows down were you? If so then yes, it's not very good at anything above 35/40 but a wind deflector won't fix that.
*test not performed illegally.

Yes I definitely miss the Boxster anytime it’s dry and 14 deg C plus.

Tru dat, as the kids say.
As with the SLK55, despite its dynamic and gearbox flaws, even in terrible traffic you could always enjoy the noise of a rumbling V8 at any speed in the summer.
Despite not linking MX5's, I really, really want a Flyin' Miata with LS3

The engine is one of these. I think the cam is a bit too agressive to get you through a uk mot (?) .

We’ve enjoyed our diesel convertible today on a family trip out to north wales. You can’t hear the engine above about 15mph and it’s fine sitting at 80mph although the kids looked a bit windswept after an hour of it. They didn’t complain, though.

Dare I drive my car from Surrey to Silverstone tomorrow with the top down? I guess it’ll be a great experiment...
