New car!

Post by DaveE »

I've been a very naughty boy!

Image

It's a 2014, Boxster 981 3.4 GTS manual

I've always wanted a Porsche, but never been brave enough (or flush enough) to pull the trigger

Events of the past couple of years have given me a little more of a "fuck it!" attitude, so why not eh?

This is basically my perfect spec too:
- GTS interior pack
- full alcantara (inc. steering wheel)
- carbon trim
- 18 way powered, heated, memory seats
- valved sports exhaust
- colour / wheels
- previous owner even fitted those Zunsport grilles to protect the front rads

And I genuinely enjoyed driving it more than the 4 litre, PDK, GTS we drove last week - this one sounds more like a proper Porsche, and it sounds amazing even at 30-40mph

I'm a very modest/reserved kind of person, and I'm still a bit in shock that I've actually done it - but can't wait to collect it next weekend!

Looks great! That age of boxster/cayman haven't really aged at all - could be straight out of the showroom. Looks fantastic in GTS trim.

It’s fantastic, and I know how few manual GTSs there are so it shouldn’t be a bad investment longer term either.

Looks awesome! I am thinking similar thoughts with regards to a "fuck it" care, although the TTS is nice and faster than i am able to drive frankly, it is not really a "fuck it" car for me.

Funny how twenty years or so ago we had loads of fast cars, ten years ago we all had derv hatches (not all but you know what I mean) and more and more of us are back in faster, more fun cars again!

Nice! Did you deal with my mate Tom? Some may remember ortontom from the early days of these forums.

Congrats - looks great and Ashgood have a good rep.

My, my - cars are expensive though these days aren't they! I remember walking into Porsche East London in November 2010 as reckless trainee solicitor with a solid enough salary for a large (at the time) bank loan and coming away with a 6 year old 987 Boxster S with (I think) around 23,000 miles on the clock for the princely sum of £22,500!

I’ve totally lost track with the different Porsche models so put a private plate on that and I’d think it was a couple of years old.

Lovely that fella I'm sure you'll love owning it.

Re the 4.0 they seem to be more hard work to make go quickly. My mates 2020 gt4 was hardly quicker than my 3.4 987.
