Low strong winter sun

Post by Gavster »

Love/Hate relationship.

Love: going for a morning walk or run to see gorgeous sunrises and catching the blue skies and sun shining, it's a great way to start the day.

Hate: Filming video content in a flat with with large south or east facing windows, it's impossible to control the light unless it's a cloudy day.

Methinks it's time to buy some blackout blinds...

I'm sometimes very pleased I have some polarised prescription sunglasses left in my car. It's lovely when you're not looking directly at it, but sodding blinding when you can't avoid heading into it.

For years my commute was along the M8 between Glasgow & Edinburgh, and low blinding sun was a daily challenge. So many rear-ender accidents witnessed due to this. Thankfully I never participated but had a few narrow misses (one where impact was only avoided by me veering onto the central reservation grass - the guy I had seen coming screeched to a stop with his nose level with my wing mirror….

Simple solution, polarise all your windows.

It was proposed years ago that both headlights and windscreens should be polarised to minimise glare from oncoming cars. Never went anywhere….

I guess because you can just put the polarised glass on your eyes instead of everywhere and get the same effect.

I've convinced one window that trans women are real women and then told another that women must have a uterus, do you think that's enough polarisation?

Ask one whether it's Derry or Londonderry.
