Saw this tweet and assumed it was a joke. It isn’t. Erm….
My initial question was - why is it for the what?
But on reflection I realise I should have asked what is it for the why

I’m guessing your chauffeur can drive in taxi lanes…

There’s also a weird Kahn Taxi too.
Maybe it caters to a niche Fake Taxi fantasy for millionaires.

I noticed that Clive Sutton are offering a Hummer EV. Can you even drive that on a car license here? It weighs 4 tonnes.

It's quite cool in a very London-esque way.

quite like that. Luxury and anonymity, blends in, as long as you don’t mind drunk people trying to open your doors on a night

That wood veneer looks fucking terrible. I swear we had better stuff for the old mans yacht. Stuff that didn't look like cheap wrapping paper.

Only if it's registered as such, surely?

I remember Stephen Fry had one and wasn't sure if it's a grey area ?

I haven’t researched it but I can’t see how it’s any different to any other private car.
Just because almost every taxi in Canterbury is a Skoda doesn’t mean that you can suddenly buy a Skoda and drive it in bus lanes
There’s also loads of these LEVC vans now knocking about. They’re just another car which happen to be primarily used as a Taxi.

Licensed taxis (not private hire vehicles) can use bus lanes in London. The vehicle has to have taxi signage. So make sure your chauffeur has a taxi licence; the same driver would not be able to take you legally up bus lanes in an S-class.
