eh? There's a quick episode on 3D printing the arches, but there's no full episode until after Xmas because they got let down.

well they're not going to make the arch extensions out of metal, and this is the longer, "no compromise" way to go about it!RobYob wrote: ↑Sat Dec 26, 2020 11:39 am15min on their decent from elightened metal fabrication to the obscene devilry of "CAD" and printing in plastic. It's wrong!

Re: Project Binky
They're using the best suited material for each job, metal arches would be easily damaged, would need a liner to stop them being ridiculously noisy and wouldn't have any real benefits.
They'll probably use leather on the seats rather than rolled metal too .

Re: Project Binky
I thought it was interesting. They weren’t ever going to make them out of metal and can’t have seen them boing happy with the cut and shut plastic ones they made.
I’m not sure how well pla is likely to last long term on a print that size, but like they say, they’re the perfect blank to make a mould from to make composite versions in the future.

Re: Project Binky
I like how the basic paint job is sympathetic to the cars design/period etc - it could have been left like that and been a good choice.
The (not so) little touches added after though, those are seriously fucking noice.
Goes to show why you can blow over a car in your driveway, but if you want a car painted, you pay decent money for someone who knows their shit inside out, back to front and upside down in their sleep, every day of the week.

That’s amazing. Really gorgeous.
Just hope I get to see it in the flesh, outside on a sunny day at some point.
