If someone parks on the line though it’s deemed bad parking, I know that none of the car body should overhand your bay so when ticketed do they measure to the line centre ? I was caught for this a long while but but was at least 30cm over so was my fault.
Dave!
If this was me, id have typed out the first few words, then realised how dumb it would sound and deleted the post.
Why ?
The widest part of my Defender is the tyres as my mirrors are leant back, so if I park on the line that’s bad parking in my book but seemingly ok by the letter of the law.
Dave!

Aww were you wrong Stevie that I wouldnt measure the space. Poor you.
Someone show me where parking spaces are measured from the middle of the white line - where is this written? Its just not true.
I am right that the space was smaller than 2.4m.
End of thread.

It's not constrained by garage walls. If you measure ten spaces you will find that they take up 24m because you can't ignore the width of the white lines. The spaces are 2.4m wide, all along the row.

I like the idea that planners, who are all about efficient use of space would leave hundreds of 2" gaps in a car park for the untouchable white lines

Classic.
I draw the fuckers for a living Broccers. Please take it from me that what you have measured is a 2.4m space, because you can use the 10cm wide column of space that exists above the line itself to open your door into. I'm not sure I'll ever understand that that could be a difficult concept to grasp.

I went on the internet, and I found this.
Do with it as you please.
Here's another, in the UK. I can't believe they didn't go to the effort of marking out each side of each line

So you’re the reason for tiny car park spaces and all those parking dings! You absolute grade A nuclear weapons grade cvnt

It's quite simple to grasp. I measured a 2.3 metre space. Where's the proof about your guidelines?
It's utterly made up bullshit.
But carry on, I won't be reading as you're clearly incapable of understanding you're wrong when shown actual measurements.
