End of thread?

Expert with no proof so yes end of thread.

Here we go. An actual end of thread. With evidence.

You’ll notice this trained professional line painter is following a single, thin chalk line, not filling a 100mm wide box. Therefore parking spaces are measured from centre of the paint to centre of the paint.

I don't think those lines are 4" wide though.. the plot thickens!

“Operators are faced with the dilemma of having to repaint spaces to accommodate these larger vehicles, which is especially difficult at some older multi-storey car parks where space is already restricted.

“Unfortunately, this would lead to an overall reduction in the total number of spaces available and an inevitable increase in charges to compensate for the loss of revenue.”

 Wishful thinking there. They've been increasing charges every year since the carpark was invented and never made spaces bigger.

If people aren’t using the spaces because their cars won’t fit then they won’t loose money anyway.

I can remember for as long as I’ve been driving a couple of multi stories having odd little spaces in corners or end of rows you could only get a very small car in, as long as you didn’t have a passenger. I bet barely anything you can buy today would fit!

My Ioniq6 doesn't fit length wise into any parking spaces yet, never mind width. It feels like I'm driving a limo about.

Ioniq6 Dimensions:

4,855 mm L x 1,880 mm W x 1,495 mm H

UK Parking Guide:

"When assessing the area needed for staff and customer parking, it should be noted that the current UK norm for parking spaces is 2.4 metres wide by 4.8 metres long. The space for manoeuvring (roadways) between bays is six metres."

Larger in every dimension except length.
