I picked up my box of nicely organised screws by the handle and discovered lid wasn’t shut properly.

We had a lad start working for us a few years ago. He did this on his first day he was told “well you best get to sorting then”

...Making sure you pick up every single one from the drive, failing which you *will* get one in a tyre

A lass I know did it with gel nails that were slightly different sizes and unpainted (or whatever they do to gel nails) hundreds of the buggers!

My partner makes jewellery and they have loads of little compartmentalised storage boxes for the bits. They must drop at least one a week

in all seriousness, you can get little wheeled magnet bars for exactly this purpose - fucking invaluable in the Apple place I worked at, as many of those screws were tiny and liked to go walkies....
if it picks up one screw from the drive that you'd missed, it's probably paid for itself.

I was kind of joking but I got little magnetised dishes with my bike’s toolkit and they’re incredibly useful.

Oh, I'm not joking - the number of times I got distracted taking a laptop apart and swept a screw the size of a bluebottles nutsack onto the (dark, carpet tiled) floor - and then found it again using the magnetic sweeper - was significant enough for me to value them a lot
Surprised they're £50 or more though, thought they'd be cheaper than that!

I firmly live by the philosophy that if my day starts off a bit shit I’m just going to do the bare minimum to get by and survive that day because experience tells me that in those situations whatever I touch goes to shit
