Are you converting it to full Doc Brown Hover car spec or skipping the flux capacitor?

Full-Hover, much easier to come top of the field when we can go off-piste. Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads.

Hmmm.. 4wd version? Just need two E30 M3s and have one engine in the front and one at the back!

I just spotted the fancy sill stands on that.

Bumping the thread because there's only a week to go and my car still has rusty sills, no MOT and no VED

If anyone fancies trying Targa and needs a car, I spotted THIS and it'd be perfect. The gearbox issue mentioned is 99% likely to just be a dodgy linkage. I'm quite tempted to chuck in a bid as a backup car in case the Compact doesn't get an MOT next week.

I got them ages ago. The E36 jacking points are already in the sills :

So it's pretty simple to do. Someone had got a bunch of OEM jacks, cut off the arm bit and welded them onto some A-frames. They did a batch of them and they were really cheap. They are a bit wobbly side-to-side if you heave on the car but they won't go anywhere. Obviously great for working under the car as they leave absolutely everything clear.

Swift would be a sound choice. Linkage a known issue on them.

@Jobbo - I don’t suppose you’ve got a pop-up gazebo you could bring tomorrow ? I’ve got a regular one but it has to be assembled which is a bit of a bore.

Lovely noise. Not a good base car though, they’re pretty wide & heavy. 911 much better. There’s some great 911 rally videos out there 8-)

Sorry @Sundayjumper, I don’t have one. Annoyingly I was looking at someone working on their car under one last week and thought they could be useful for all sorts round the garden so I may get one but not today.

This is great fun, basically a chance to drive like the dukes of hazard  on a mixture of tarmac and loose rough gravel surface. Very slidey and drifty, plus some faster bits on tarmac.

The ov9 pits:

8-) What a marvellous way to spend a sunny Sunday... the cars need some decals though!

I reckon this would work down the side of the Compact, just above the rubbing strip.

Congrats to JonMad and Jobbo for winning the first ov9 forum member targa rally shootout 👏 great day and loads of fun slinging cars around a field

Can’t wait to see the event photos, the photographer was nicely positioned by a fast long corner with lots of loose dirt and gravel so there should be some good action shots :)

Awesome day. Thanks Simon for the top navigation skills. We managed to split a pair in our class who were double driving, so they had 1st and 3rd and we got 2nd.

Great to have Gavin joining in the fun in the Compact.

Some nicely drifty action in the Fabia. Glad it survived the day of taking a beating so I could drive home in it, though it’s not 100% - the left indicator intermittently decides not to work, fixed by turning the engine off and on again, suspect the stalk has a dodgy connection; and I think the clutch is starting to slip as sometimes when I press the accelerator the revs will flare.

It's a BMW, needs two more colours.

I’m actually thinking it would work as a sun strip.
