In these times of financial crisis and rising fuel prices, what better car to buy than a V8 4x4
2005 e53 4.8is in estoril blue, no side steps, with leather / alcantara seats.
Some questionable additions, and a few bits to tidy up but overall very pleased with it. Proper muscle car noises, and pretty brisk 3x M badges removed.
Wouldn’t have been my first choice of colour, but imola red seems incredibly rare, didn’t want dark blue, didn’t really want black ( but would have settled for it ) didn’t want baggy, light coloured leather.
Satisfies the desire for a v8, adds a different drivetrain layout / driving experience to the fleet, and have something that will actually take 5 people in reasonable comfort when required.

Pics of the interior ? I don't remember seeing leather / alcantara on an X5, only full leather.

Cracking purchase! Lovely things and it's a great colour. Thank you for removing the M badges

How on earth did you make space for that??
It looks very tidy though. Props. That engine makes a lovely noise.

Looks decent! If I had a pound for every extra M badge I'd removed over the years.... (...I'd have errr, £3)
Good work - V8s are great.

Excellent fleet addition

That’s lovely, the 4.8 is a cracking engine aswell with a nice bit of snarl.

No decent ones yet, was already getting dull by the time we got back and let the mrs have a go.Sundayjumper wrote: ↑Sun Oct 30, 2022 5:10 pm YAYYYY !!!!!

The material under the alcantara is more blue than it looks here. The interior trims are lemans blue too instead of the standard wood / silver.
Unfortunately someone has also painted the pull handles and levers too which has taken things a bit too far and need sorting out.
Cheers, Harry

Seat colour/material is great, door trims are indeed awful! I fully expect you to sort the issue in your typical OTT OEM++ style!

I will sort something out for sure, just haven’t decided quite what yet.
Wind deflectors need throwing in the bin, and I’ll get some oe rear lights at some point too.

Every nice! Have always liked those and that's a great colour choice too.

I like the seats. They avoid being shiny like leather always ends up.
I’d go piano black on the door trims and silver for the releases (is that the right word ? The bit you pull to open it, not the bit you pull to close it). Must be easy enough to get some used ones ?

Lovely choice. I don’t think I’ve seen that perforated alcantara trim in BMWs except in very light colours (champagne or ivory) as an Individual option. Is it Individual or just a really rare normal option?
