Yip, looks like it...

M4 - 1725
M4 Comp XDrive - 1775
M3 Touring Comp XDrive - 1865

I think it was Harry Metcalfe who made the point that the new M3 is basically the same size as the older M5s

And presumably they've had to pin back the performance so it doesn't overtake the M4. It's no faster than the M2 comp which it replaces but the M40i versions have closed up the gap below the m2.

It's like they've backed themselves into a corner, built a new car that's way too heavy and not known what to do about it.

I wonder what the different options looked like in terms of weight v performance before they had to settle on this flavour of it which won't upset the model lineup?

I feel like a befuddled old man whenever I see a BMW out there now with an M at the start of the model, literally no idea what it is and literally every single car they produce now seems to have M parts and badges on it.
Cheers,

Mike.

The rear lights are just too far apart, it all just looks weirdly deformed and messed up.

Despite how much is going on, it still looks like something is missing. A swage line maybe. Seems unfinished.

Honda Civic Type R designers have been quoted as saying…

“Ah hear, come on now… learn when enough is enough lads… seriously for fuck sake…”

Looks better than an m4 that’s had the entire “m performance parts” treatment!

Ooh, BASF 8-)
I can understand why BMW have made such items available but that doesn't in any way mean I condone them.
I've said it before (and I'll say it again; dance while the record spins. Enjoy this trip. Enjoy this trip...for it is a trip. Countdown is progressing,,,) I'd like to know what bits of the basic design have any aero benefit, and how, and BMW could really do with an Andreas Preuninger to do detailed walkrounds that sell the feature/car (e.g. the roof side guards on the GT3RS).

Just stick on big wheels to fill the arches. Sooo, how long until they launch an iDonk?

I don't mind it. Would happily daily it over a BMW XM.

Does the back end styling remind anyone else of the, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio? Or is it just me.

Well, they're blatant about Italian influence here;
