I only found out today that Dennis The Menace is not only a UK Beano character, but is also a completely different Mercun character. The characters are different, conceived independently, yet each has a canine sidekick, and - rather mind bendingly - both apparently appeared in print for the first time on exactly the same day (12March 1951) in separate publications on either side of the Atlantic.

Dennis is an enjoyable kids movie with Walter Matthau and Christopher Lloyd

Yeah, they used to show the American cartoon here but just called it Dennis as DC Thomson had the rights to Dennis the Menace.
