Old Consoles

So I'm moving sometime in the next few months, which has necessitated a massive clearout of collected shite over the past 9 years of living here. So far I've found an origianl X-Box and a bunch of games, and a PS3 with a few.
Are they worth any actual money vs pain of dealing with "people" or shall I donate them to the skip I have outside?

On the Facebook page I run people give them away. Any youth groups/childrens wards that could benefit from them?
Reminds me, I must do something with this Commadore 64!

I deal with old consoles the same way I deal with old phones.

Stick it in a drawer and forget about it? Take it in every move because you formed an emotional attachment to it because of how long you spent with it and it reminds you of being younger when life was less complicated?
Or throw it at a tramp?

I'm going with the Tramp option.
DJ: Into town so the kids can walk to school, be around their friends and be independent of me driving them everywhere, since they're now both at high school.

Old consoles become valuable at some point when everyone else has thrown them out. So if you kept them they might be worth a few quid more in 20 years.
Good luck with the move. We’ve been a taxi service for 5 years but my last stepchild is now going to university so that’s coming to an end.

Tim - I bought an iPhone (just an "iPhone", before they had any model suffix) from you a while back. I know for a fact it's in the drawer in the hallway right now

Haha, mental. Put it in the bin.

Sold the PS3 for £40 on Facebook Marketplace. Buyer turned up. With cash. Didn't try and knock me down. Fucked off in 2 mins. More of that please!

A bit late, but definitely worth something. People who like gaming like to build a decent collection when they’re cheap because they will inevitably rise at some point.
I would have given you something for the Xbox games rather than see them skipped, I’m pretty sure the consoles are still popular with modders.

I was about to ask the same question as Jimmy
I still have a Sega Saturn + Sega Rally + wheel in storage.

Sold my Dreamcast for ok money last year. GameCube (which I couldn’t find any controllers for) and original Xbox went to recycling.
Anything more than a decade old can be emulated and a Wii can play the GC stuff.

Even PS3 emulation is coming along nicely, a console I consider thoroughly modern.
Which I think is showing my age, honestly.

Too much nostalgia for me to sell for a few quid. I keep all my consoles connected up so I can jump on them once every 6 months to remind myself how shit those graphics now look

PS1, PS2, Xbone, PS5 and Switch connected to the bedroom TV.
Ran out of HDMI ports so the Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 are just connected to my PC monitor.
