Hermes/Evri
Re: Hermes/Evri
We recently had to pull services we were running with DPD as they missed collections 8 times in 3 weeks.
Apparently everyone is struggling with keeping drivers on their books just now.

Re: Hermes/Evri
It's a bit of a racket. For instance Amazon pay you something like £15-20 an hour (it depends on time of day, how many drops you do etc) and you have to supply your own vehicle. £15 an hour is not enough money to work and supply a car, you'll end up on less than minimum wage if you have any delays or problems. Plus I'm sure that 90% of Amazon Flex drivers are not insured for carrying goods either, one bump with the wrong person and you'll be in a world of financial/insurance pain. Hermes/Evri are similar, it's a very sneaky way to lower your company's risk but it's not fair on the workers.
Re: Hermes/Evri
Aye, the Hermes guy who delivers to our street uses an old Honda Civic rammed to the roof with parcels
One of (the many) reasons why we won't work with them.

He probably rents it on Turo
Re: Hermes/Evri
A parcel disappears into the ether, supposed to be delivered on Wednesday between 3:30 and 5:30, pushed back to 7:30 to 9 then marked as delayed with delivery to be made next working day, with message to confirm. Then nothing. Meanwhile on eBay track says for Thursday parcel on the way to the local courier (again??), the parcel out for delivery. Wife has a parcel delivered by Evri last night from the usual driver, mine nowhere to be seen. Now Friday PM and suffice to say it's not arrived today.
Anyone who receives a couple of disco lights, they're mine. I can get a refund via eBay but was hoping to program them yesterday and test them at this evenings disco, ready for a bigger event tomorrow as the DMX control might need tweaking.

Your delivery driver's going to have great lights at his disco

Well surprisingly they arrived this afternoon about 1.5 hours before the disco. So giving them a test tonight.
Re: Hermes/Evri
Geoff, our Hermes/Evri courier has just rung the door bell and handed me a parcel, he said “I know we normally leave them in the garage but it’s from Game and I thought the young lad might want it urgently”
Re: Hermes/Evri
When did DPD become fucking rubbish? Still waiting on a next day tube of proofs from wednesday.
Re: Hermes/Evri
We don't have a regular Evri driver here so he'll be getting hee haw. Even if we had a regular one, they seem unable to deliver anything on time, so there would be no tip.
DPD Stevie on the other hand will be getting some chocolates and beers as he's a star.
Cheers,
Mike.

I'm waiting on something via Hermes that should have been delivered on 26/11
Fortunately it's more of a want than a need.

Re: Hermes/Evri
Evri delivered something yesterday, on the day they were supposed-to and during the time slot they emailed me with. I genuinely can't remember them ever having managed that before.
Cheers,
Mike.

Our local evri person is really good. Can't fault the service she provides.

Same, our regular lady is very good, often stops for a quick chat, knows who to expect at the door based on what cars are where, and where to leave things if no one is in.
Can’t fault her at all, it’s more the parcels getting to her intact that’s the worry.
