Can fuck right off
Every last fucking one of them…
Every last fucking one of them…
There it is - I'll just leave it here...
Doesn't make it untrue though...

I’d say they are holding the entire country to ransom
My other half has spent the last 18 months working (in the private sector) in a situation with a high likelihood of catching Covid and due the realities of the market, has not had a pay increase in the past 3 years. Her real terms salary has decreased.ZedLeg wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 4:14 pm If I had been working in places where I was highly likely to get a serious illness for the last 3 years and was then told that my salary was going down in real terms I'd probably go on strike too.
You don't think it's unusual to think that everyone should put up with unfair treatment rather than try and improve things for the people who're being treated unfairly?dinny_g wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 4:22 pmMy other half has spent the last 18 months working (in the private sector) in a situation with a high likelihood of catching Covid and due the realities of the market, has not had a pay increase in the past 3 years. the public sector aren't special - they should stop thinking they are.
Change always occurs in industry, some jobs which were hugely lucrative are now not so much. Look at the rush on Plumbers years back. Candle makers used to be the rich folk near mines years back.ZedLeg wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 4:28 pmYou don't think it's unusual to think that everyone should put up with unfair treatment rather than try and improve things for the people who're being treated unfairly?dinny_g wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 4:22 pmMy other half has spent the last 18 months working (in the private sector) in a situation with a high likelihood of catching Covid and due the realities of the market, has not had a pay increase in the past 3 years. Like, it sucks for your wife that she's in this position. Rather than saying it's not fair that those people are in a better one, the focus should be on getting people like your wife there.
There’s nothing Unfair about not getting a pay increase if your employer cannot afford an increase. There’s nothing unfair about having to go into the office if your employer deems it essential - which it largely is. That’s just life. Get over it.ZedLeg wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 4:28 pmdinny_g wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 4:22 pmMy other half has spent the last 18 months working (in the private sector) in a situation with a high likelihood of catching Covid and due the realities of the market, has not had a pay increase in the past 3 years. Completely the opposite - “racing to the bottom” - ie collective type bargaining is the absolute worst thing about unions IMOSwervin_Mervin wrote: Mon Jun 20, 2022 4:36 pm I don't agree with racing to the bottom, which is what it sounds ilke you're using as justification Dinny.
