Small hot hatches

My partner's Up GTI is coming up to its fourth birthday soon, and she mentioned changing it possibly. Apart from getting a new Up GTI (whilst they still make them) we need to move up to a Fiesta ST or Hyundai i20n and spend a good few grand more to purchase and run. When did all the fun to drive tiddlers disappear, or am I missing something obvious? (She's had two Abarths and a Mini Cooper by the way).

What does the collective expertise think?

I went for a 2015 Swift Sport over an Up GTi or Fiesta ST as it was cheaper, lightweight, naturally aspirated (until 2018 when the newer model came in) and well specced. 2014 or later have DAB/sat nav built in. Otherwise its' just a case of choosing 3 or 5 door and what colour you want.

The later (2018+) car is faster but less 'pure'.
