How much?
Re: How much?
I'm not on instagram so can't see much but did note one went for about £40k recently
According to the internet the dampers are worth something like £10k

Re: How much?
That is for No. 001 though. Still daft but puts a little more context into it.
And a Ph2 Clio V6 went for £75k recently didn't it? I always said they'd never drop below £14k before rising again. Should've got one when they were "cheap"

Re: How much?
Wow - so more like £50k. Even stoopider (imho).
I understand the new owner owns A LOT of exotica however, so don’t expect this will concern them.
Doesn’t HarryM still have one of these?
Re: How much?
I think the money is a drop in the ocean for that guy isn't it? Even with the number 001, I don't get why that makes this car worth that much money, but what do I know.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 9:57 am That is for No. 001 though. Still daft but puts a little more context into it.

Re: How much?
This thread has made me go and look at Alpine A110s. They've lovely things and a far better use of that money than a Clio which is only so valuable due to its dampers.
Re: How much?
I recall Renault dealers reducing new v6s below £20k to sell them, better than bitcoin!
Re: How much?
It always makes me laugh thinking back to various cars I considered over the year and discounted for various reasons (reasons that turned out to be daft!)
E30 M3s when they were £5-6k - the forums were full of stories about £2-3k head rebuilds
Clio V6 when they were £10-12k - not very powerful
NSX when they were £15k - not all that fast
Dc2 ITR when they were £5-7k - not that keen on the looks
The thing is though, cars cost money - even if they're sat doing nothing. Maintenance, insurance, tax, etc... so it's not as if I could have just sat on them!

Re: How much?
Looking at his profile - Le Mans Winner, so searched it and it's François Perrodo's account. Richest racing driver in the world apparently - makes the Strolls look like paupers so yeah, 40,000 on a Clio is actually peanuts
How about not having a sig at all?

One day the 306 Rallye that I sold for £2k will be worth a fortune as well.
Left over crest; tightens.
Re: How much?
It can be painful to look back, but at the same time every car (and house) move we have made could not have happened without selling the car (house) that we already had.
Re: How much?
Also with most cars adding in inflation, tax, insurance, servicing and that increase in value is suddenly not all that much. Of course it's still better than £40k of depreciation on a 520d...

Re: How much?
For me I still can't forget the 50K 993 Turbo I was trying to buy after the TVR Chimera when my friend recommended it as a car I probably wouldn't lose much money on.Rich B wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 12:34 pm It always makes me laugh thinking back to various cars I considered over the year and discounted for various reasons (reasons that turned out to be daft!)

Re: How much?
I think the one that hurts the most in that list is the NSX. Still remains top of my lottery win list and probably now that's the only way I'll ever be able to afford one.Rich B wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 12:34 pm It always makes me laugh thinking back to various cars I considered over the year and discounted for various reasons (reasons that turned out to be daft!)

yeah, I'm sure I remember them at mid teens - they do look great these days.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 16, 2022 3:45 pmI think the one that hurts the most in that list is the NSX.
