You think it's bad here - try France!

I've just done a 1,261 mile road trip on my bike and in places I was seeing EUR2.20/litre! I mostly filled up in small towns where there's an Intermarche or Carrefour and was still paying between EUR1.79 and 1.85.

Diesel much cheaper, a good 20 cents per litre. But then they do like a stinkwheel over there.

I don’t see how the two things are related

Local Esso have changed their chip and pin terminals to basically the same system as restaurants. The cheeky gits ask if you want to pay a tip! Maybe if you give me free lube.

Today at Sainsbury; £1.409 unleaded, £1.389 diesel. It's been a long time since I last saw diesel cheaper than ul.

What is the rationale for diesel coming back down nearer to the price of petrol ?

Seasonal demand of distillates close to heating fuel dropping?

Yup, it's changed since you bought the Bentley.

I dunno what is going on at the minute, but I've been doing some miles in the last week or so and the prices seem to vary much more than normal. I've seen anything from £1.32/L to £1.50/L (just in towns, excl. motorways).

There was an investigation into supermarket fuel prices and the big four got a wrist slapping, and Asda got fined about half a second of turnover, might explain some of it.
