So you are allowed to travel. Where are you going this year? Driving hols?

I was invited to le mans - 800 quid to camp so I wont be doing that. Or are we all put off with the war thing?

You've mentioned your dad a couple of times Gav. Is he going to be ok? The worst conversation of last year was my mother telling me my dad had 48 hours to live. Luckily still here.

Book a holiday!

Long weekend Break to Berlin or Rome at the end of July. Going to North Devon for a week in August.

Saving funds for a big holiday to California in Aug 2023. 3 weeks - Los Angelus, road trip through Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and then San Francisco

Sadly not, he has prostate cancer that we've just found out has spread pretty much everywhere. He's been told to enjoy what time he has left.

Sorry to hear that. I totally understand that situation (We were told in 2018 a similar thing for my dad and my father in law is currently in a similar situation).

That’s a thoroughly unpleasant situation for all. :(

:( Really sorry to hear that @Zonda_. Not really any words that can help obviously, but try to take care of yourself as much as you do everyone else and get support when you need it.

Thanks, it means a lot. I’m by myself a lot at the moment and it’s good to know there are people who can listen.

Sorry for ruining your thread!

Just back from 5 days in Miami (gf). Off to Barbados for 5 days in March (gf). Going skiing at Lake Tahoe in early April (fam). California in July (fam) - think LA/San Diego, but maybe northwards.. August will be a week or so in the Med (fam). September: planning on going away with the gf, but not sure where yet.. 3rd court hearing that month so will probably need a holiday in October, before my birthday in Nov - probably in St. Vincent (gf). Trying to fit in the BVI’s this year for a few days and mate has started an airline in the Bahamas, so will get over there end of year hopefully..
Cheers,

Ian

We've kind of given up on a proper holiday this year, not for any covid or Ukraine reasons though. Just the little one doesn't travel well at the moment, and we're having to tighten our belts a lot for childcare costs. Maybe if I get a decent bonus we'll have some time by the coast in the UK, but we'll leave it late and see what happens. Otherwise perhaps we'll stay at home but take some time off and do some good day trips out and about.

Hopefully next year we can do something a bit more interesting.

I always regretted travelling abroad when my kids where small. Everything upset them, the food, the heat, the plane and so on.

I think they were about 5 before I enjoyed lol

It was kinda expected having most of my time on holiday somewhere warm or skiing when not. Apart from thailand theres a few places I want to drop by.

I'm 50 next year, going big wasnt that good at 40. Waking up in las vegas with a massive hangover wasnt that much to remember

Whos the guy with a place in Crantock?

Sorry to hear that, must be utterly devastating. This getting old lark sucks.

We've got a week in Dublin planned just to get away for a bit and get pampered in a nice hotel and get drunk. PLanning to take the camper van up to the isles for a week of biking, paddling etc. I'm looking forward to getting some decent driving in too - just head north-west from here towards Glencoe etc.
Cheers,

Mike.
