That is very nice indeed, I think that's the one I'd go for if there was a lottery win involved. Chris Harris certainly loves his one. Not sure silver is the best colour for it though, some of those details look a bit fussy.

That looks mint.

Sounds like a better proposition than the standard GT3, although is that mostly the tyres? I mostly like the looks although I'm still not sold on the vents at the nose end of the bonnet.

I don't like the front view and not sold on the rear. 991/992 models really don't appeal. They seem too big for a 911to my eyes.

It looks over the top for a Touring.

Love it, but then again I love all things GT3/RS. 996/7/1/2, I’m not fussed, there are no bad cars there.

Not a fan of the front end, the bumper is too fussy and pretty ugly and the frunk lid would look miles better with a single vent and without the weird nose into an intake bit which runs up the middle.
I expect Porsche will read this and hang their heads in shame at the loss of a potential sale

As a teen I hated how undramatic 911’s looked. The 993 hooked me in big time. The dimensions made real sense. and my appreciation for the earlier 964 and CS was piqued also.
997 was seriously attractive for me. Lotto win type car.
Last 992 I saw looked absolutely enormous. I’m struggling to desire one again now.

The vent on the frunk is the one thing I'd change - not sure why they've done that other than to differentiate it from the last one.

I've no issue with the looks, but I (mostly) agree with Mik. The aircooled 911s were pretty small and the Beetle DNA was enormously obvious right up to the 993. The 996 was the first proper redesign. It got bigger for sure but also kept an element of the simplicity of earlier cars. The 997 was basically a hefty facelift of the 996. It's a smidge bigger. The interior got a lot more plush. And that trajectory has continued ever since.
So depending on your PoV you could say that the 996 was the beginning of the end, or that it was the foundation for the future.
I don't particularly desire a 992, and even if I had the £100k++ list price lying around to spend on a car, it would be unbearably galling that you can only buy a GT3 if you regularly play golf with the dealer principal, or are happy to give the dealer principal's golf buddy £100k overs for his one.

Is the suspension actually softer/ more compliant for the road? Think I heard when this gen of GT3 Touring was announced, that it has exactly the same suspension as the normal GT3, which I've heard is TOOO EXTREME for the road.
In which case, WTF Porsche?

This is the size comparison for the Turbo, I was sure I had one for the normal Carrera but can't seem to see it.

In the boatshoes article it states that the suspension is identical, but that on the Pirelli rubber the ride is transformed.
I for one love it.

Well, just get yours with a spare set of wheels and tyres. Michelins for track and Pirellis for road.

so the old ones were actually wider with wing mirrors!
