so the old ones were actually wider with wing mirrors!
I can't be arsed to do the research, but I find that hard to believe.

Same, I don’t care what the figures say, the old ones look tiny on the road, the new ones are massive

Yeah, that's basically the upshot of it and I'm surprised there's not been a much more conclusive picture posted yet which shows it.

Counting the mirrors as part of the width doesn't really work as those early ones were very much on the jug-eared side of things.
Cheers,

Mike.

I guess it’s a bit like the old vs new defender. If you drew a box around them to their max dimensions there wouldn’t be much in it, but it’s the way the vehicle fills that box which makes it look / feel a lot bigger.

On the 964 the rear bumper sticks out quite a long way behind the lights / engine cover. Push those out to the same length and make the bumper flush, lift the engine cover a bit higher and suddenly the car looks a lot bigger without actually being any longer end to end.

I'd like to see that just out of curiosity if you can find it?

Top of my list this car. The want is real.

Autodelta Alfa comes second.

For some reason it wasn't on my phone so I had to dig through my laptop instead. And I thought the two cars were facing the same way but they're not. Sorry. It was nearly ten years ago that I took the pic.....
