Well I don't know about that picture, but I did see that JWST suffered a micrometeoroid impact, but this type of thing was anticipated and not an issue.

We're going to learn so many fascinating things with this telescope, probably no point in reading any books involving astronomy or physics for a while as they'll be out of date. :D

Looking back in time 13 billion years...

I suppose some of those galaxies no longer exist physically, other than light travelling through the cosmos... 8-)

The clarity difference between it and Hubble is amazing...

What?? Impossible!! The universe was created just 2000 years ago (according to some “scholars”) 🤭

IIRC the redder the light, the older the galaxy so it's quite possible a few of those pictured aren't around anymore.

The official twitter thread explains the image a bit. The most impressive thing is that the picture took less than a day whereas the same from Hubble took weeks.
How about not having a sig at all?
