Found it very hard to get excited about any of the cars featured this year. Perhaps because the write up seemed to be focussing mostly on their flaws. But when I saw the profiles of the 2001 and 2011 eCOTYs the line ups seemed far more interesting.
Decal delete on that STO and it would look great in that colour. GT3 Manuel touring a shoe in Shirley?
Locations look familiar.

Now I’ve read it, I think the subscriber only section is the best bit. Bit odd to make that unavailable to newsagent readers and presumably not even something they’d be aware of.

That's an odd move. I can't see how that would pull in other punters.
My general reflection is that evo isn't getting more boring but maybe evo cars are...

The photography was the best bit, just can't get excited about the cars.
Was going to cancel my subscription, but DJlet1 has started reading it and is being excited about cars. Half our conversations are about cars he's seen, cars from his Top Trumps game or cars I may or may not have driven. So, sticking with it for now.

Just managed find the time to read this, great feature and genuinely shocked when I saw the car 3rd and I expected it to be 1st.
Anyone know if there will be a YouTube video this year? I really enjoyed the channel 4 feature last year.

Was good that, if a bit frustrating because of the usual wanting to be on those roads Surprised by the winner also but I think that's down to how they've been naming them recently as much as anything else.

I had to bite my lip at the pronunciation of Kylesku Bridge. It’s a very simple “Kyle-skew”.

Finally watched the video; I wasn’t even aware the car existed; having not read EVO for 3+ years.

So is it an age thing where everything new is rubbish and older stuff becomes more appealing which is definitely a thing, or is it more applicable to cars due to where we find ourselves with legislation, the environment and car design in general? So much new stuff coming out is just a bit "meh" to me. I could never afford or even aspire to owning a lot of the cars covered in evo, but that didn't stop me lusting after them. But now? Not so much.

I think it is exactly that; age! I accidentally subscribed to Octane years back and the cars were ones I had loved as a kid but not lusted after. I reckoned, at the time, that in 5 to 10 years time Octane would be the cars I really wanted!
