Back up for sale a year after I gave it back, for an extra £12k, and having had a bit of a haircut on the mileage

It was the Audi Q7 V12 that was the press car at the time. It was featured on Top Gear and in some mags. OY58 FXW. Google it.

When I gave it back in Sep 2020 it had 79,479 miles on it. It was MOT'd in Aug 2021 showing 78,921. I can't imagine it's worth clocking a car just to take off ~500 miles so I wonder what it's been up to for the last year, and how many miles it's really done ???

Should you report that as fraud?

I’m guessing the 8 and 9 are just the wrong way around, so just a typo

More likely it has done no miles and they've just 'rounded' it down to the nearest thou.

This. MOT testers incorrectly entered the mileage on the 330i's test one year and now the history looks sus. And there's very little scope to actually get it changed via DVLA if you don't spot the issue at the time.

Yep, got a dodgy reading on one of my e36 ones where the tester typed the numbers the wrong way round. Think you have to report it within 24 or 48h for it to be altered

The typo explanation would make sense because there's no real reason to clock a car with average mileage by 500 miles, there's certainly no financial incentive.

7 days the test centre has to amend it.
