Yes, we have no Tacumas - end of term reports

I almost forgot to do an end of term report on the last Glaucoma to leave us. I think this was the 5th which my wife had; the 4th in the same spec and colour and the 3rd automatic. She already owned two when I met her.

Having had a Suburban when she lived in Texas, she wanted something American when she came back to the UK. So she bought a Chevrolet. Hmm. Practical and cheap, anyway. Since they're cheap she got another as a back-up car. When one of them got a bit tired we scrapped it and I found an auto version locally; that was probably the best example we had but was driven into by a local nanny who overtook a queue of cars as my wife was turning right. No question about liability and no injuries but with such low value, the car was written off. Found another fairly locally which wasn't quite as good but worked, right up until it was driven into by a chap coming the wrong way down a one-way street in lockdown last April. He again paid out straight away.

So we bought another one the next day in Coventry, low mileage but not perfect again. And that car was sold on Tuesday, minimal depreciation (£1200 purchase price, £1100 sale price) and only 49k miles on it. For someone with no interest in cars at all they're cheap, easy to work on (mostly old Vauxhall mechanicals) and very practical, albeit in the higher tax bracket for the automatic.

Quite pleased it's no longer on the drive to be honest

No, had the Yeti a while but now she's actually using it rather than leaving it on the drive. She'd like a Macan though.

At some point you will have to sit down with her and address the obvious mental situation.

Dave!

Well, she married Simon, so maybe best not to address that too closely ;)

(Love you Jobbo)
