Ours is superb.

I wish I'd just done it before I stead of wasting 2 years with the buggy Philips one.

Software, and picture processing is SOOOO much better.

Excited. Had my head set on a QNED, but got offered a deal on a proper OLED that was too tempting. 8-)

Had a good look at one in John Lewis and was rather blown away.

Delivered and up on the wall. No surprise that the picture is superb. 8-)

It came as a deal with a Sound bar (Meridian/LG S75Q) - 380w inc sub. Hadn’t planned to use it with this telly as it is hooked up to the stereo, but it’s pretty unobtrusive and it’s nice to have decent sound without going through the hifi, so it’ll probably stay here after all.

I got the LG SP8Y in a deal when I bought mine (£400 off) and it's bloody great.

I think it is time. Anyone recommend something in the 42" range? Not too worried about smart features or the like as we've got a Freeview Play box and a FireStick for the streaming.

Can get a decent discount on LG through work, and my dad has a 55"(?) one which works well, but not wedded to the idea. Want a soundbar with it.

How good do you want it to be?

42" OLED LG's seem to be close to £1k, which doesn't look like awesume value. (Via a Richer Sounds deal, plus some haggling, I paid £1300 in May for a 65" OLED LG, with the LG S75Q sound bar (which lists at around £600) included).

I agree, but I'm not too worried as I tend to keep it for a long time (current TV is from 2007/8). The C42C3 looks like a good choice, and with the discount I think I can get it isn't too unreasonable a price.

QNED can’t quite match lovely OLED in terms of black depths, but gets extremely close, and counters with an ability to go much brighter than OLED. Far cheaper, so possibly a good compromise (for me).

Had a look in John Lewis yesterday and picture on both screens looked fantastic. Good summary here.

budget creep kicked in yo!

I went and had a look at the various options today in Richer Sounds - LED, QLED, QNED, OLED...

OLED really is a step up isn't it, so I just ordered one at double my original budget!

4 months in I still regularly mumble “look at the quality of that picture” to Mrs mik 8-)

It helped that Richer Sounds offered a deal that made it cheaper than the QNED I was originally considering. 8-)
