Help - Serious games?

I am after advice from the brain trust.

A company has approached me with a potential job. It is doing what I do, but the company makes/creates serious games.

Has anyone ever heard of the sector?

It's not Croteam and Devolver Digital? They make Serious games. Serious Sam games.

I can say it's not a sector I'd heard of, is assume it's gamifying something not normally gamified but that's pure speculation on my part.

If they're interested in you, just ask them. £5 says it's a snazzy new name for something intensely boring and normal.

Edit: googled it, sounds like edutainment with knobs on.

Yeah, sorry, I know what it is, sort of, as I looked at heir website. If I was attempting to sell it it would have been good to know people knew at least what the product was.

Seems to be simulation games that companies buy in "my" company to come and run as staff training.

Job Title is Client Relationship Builder or similar but essentially it could read Business Development Manager or Sales manager as far as I can see.

I've never heard of it but if the serious games industry is anything like the normal games industry, run fast and run far.
