Just posted a new blog on Aston Martin, Ferrari, & McLaren
DBX doesn't seem to be the savior it was touted to be. Valkyrie development is quite the ugly saga. Ferrari seems to be going all in on EV.

Only if they decide they want it at the end of the day.
Re: Update on Aston Martin, Ferrari, & McLaren
How do you feel about short-termism SSO? I worry that CEO’s are judged on a quarterly basis which has a tendency to stifle any truly long-term strategic thinking or tactics.
Re: Update on Aston Martin, Ferrari, & McLaren
I don't think I'd be putting words in anyone's mouth to say that fans of "The Product" hate short termism, but investors love it*
*Up until the the golden goose is killed but I guess that's the art of the CEO**
**Unless you've got youself an IPO and a sweet AF golden parachute.
As an aside I've heard from friends that McLaren and Ferrari both lean heavily on their staff to work "For the love of the company" which is another optimisation of short term profit but leads to discontinuity in process if you're burning out trained people every few years.

Re: Update on Aston Martin, Ferrari, & McLaren
CEOs are judged on both the short and long term. They have to get both right to survive. A CEO who can only do one of the two will not last two years.
Re: Update on Aston Martin, Ferrari, & McLaren
Thats actually quite true for most companies that have highly respected brands.RobYob wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 8:53 am As an aside I've heard from friends that McLaren and Ferrari both lean heavily on their staff to work "For the love of the company" which is another optimisation of short term profit but leads to discontinuity in process if you're burning out trained people every few years.
