Got there in the end!

Corris Grey Vogue SE mit 3.0 TDV6. No blacked out bits but it does have window tints - pretty unavoidable as 95% come specced from the factory like that.

Taking a bit of readjustment jumping out of the 911.

Yes - I saw sense in the end. No need for the V8 diseasel either, the 3.0 is plenty swift enough. Shockingly so for such a big car actually and very very quiet to boot. I was stunned driving it back on the motorway versus the tyre roar in the 911 - complete hushed silence.

Has an opening panoramic roof too which is ace. Meridian sound system very average though - bit disappointed in that. I mean its not terrible but certainly not the best in car system I've heard.

What Mito said

Nice choice though, how long did it take to find one that wasn’t super bling?

8-)
I was thinking petrol because London, or will it be venturing further afield?

Yes a good number had blacked out accents and black wheels which just look awful in my opinion. I don’t mind the tints too much as they accentuate the floating roof which has been a RR design feature from day one.

To be perfectly honest it was the wrong time to buy one for a couple of reasons - one is that the second hand car market is nuts at the moment with high demand and low supply so prices are higher than they should be and secondly the new RR is coming out this year so L405s will almost certainly take a hit. That steered me away from spending 10k more on a 2018 facelift though as they’ll be hit worst.

Then again if you always wait around for the perfect time you never do anything.

This is ULEZ compliant and I’ll be doing runs up to Yorkshire in it so sensible fuel economy will be a noticeable plus. Hopefully it will stay compliant for a number of years.

Noice, I was going to guess Macan - 'cos I'd quite like one.

Excellent choice however. I imagine parking it in Chiswick or whichever posh suburb you are in is an effing nightmare though.

That would have been my guess, had you not mentioned ‘.... I've added another one to the fleet...’ in your first post. :D

Nice car. I like RR.

One of the very few SUV/4x4s that I have even the slightest interest in. Looks great!

One passed me on the mad mile earlier, I was doing 80 and it steamed past. Will the boot take a Saint Bernard...?

Although we’ve always had them in the family it’s the first one I’ve actually owned.

I had the inevitable buyers remorse on the way home thinking was it just far too large… an hour driving around London this afternoon and I’m in love.

As much as people rail against 4x4s in cities it smoothes away the annoyance of speed bumps bad road surfaces, stop start traffic and makes journeys supremely relaxing. Makes a difference from scraping over speed bumps and wearing my clutch out in traffic.

My five year old is understandably ecstatic - he’s gone from having a front seat 12 inches in front of his face to not even being able to touch the seat in front with his legs stretched out
