Nice here in Devon this evening. Wind dropped a lot.

Regret to say things are equally miserable on my sojourn to Yorkshire

Back to greyness, misery and wind today.
Which reminds me of my own birthday.

It's very much the same in Sheffield although there was bright spell first thing and for 30 mins this afternoon
Re: This weather
Harbour looked a lot worse half an hour after I took this photo today - fortunately we were by then holed up in the third pub of the day.
Re: This weather
I’m not even attempting to go out to replicate my photo, it’s horrible!

My folks' place in Guiseley, near Yeadon. They are proper old so the heating in the house is cranked right up and none of the windows are open so I constantly feel about to fall asleep.Broccers wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 5:50 pmWhere abouts in Yorkshire?Explosive Newt wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 5:28 pm Back to greyness, misery and wind today.

Dunno if I'm a sadist but I love being out in that sort of wild coastal weather. Looks like a nice place, what area is that? It reminds me of the Fowey estuary - next County along, I know.
It looks like the weather is going to come good for June so fingers crossed for everybody on that; I think we all deserve it.
Cheers,
Jon
Re: This weather
This is Salcombe, Jon - a similar sort of harbour to Fowey, though there is a sand bar at the entrance so deep water ships can’t enter.
I love it here whatever the weather.

Re: This weather
An excellent, bright morning, the best for a while. The sky is that clear all round I even saw the moon fleetingly before it set. The birds are v. noisy though, a gentle dawn chorus it isn't. Probably surprised to see the sun so want to let the others know before it disappears.
Re: This weather
Next week is looking very promising.
Re: This weather
Our usual summer routine is nice for a couple of weeks in May/June then shite until the end of August.
I think we've had like 3 days that could be described as nice so far, I bought new sunglasses in April and they're dusty
