I thought this was a parody account as it kept popping up on my twitter over the last few weeks but no, it's the actual president of El Salvador

This chap makes Trump seem like a perfectly sane individual

He's been buying bitcoin with government funds while it was on the climb. Since September.

Compare bitcoin price then to now.

Bet taxpayers in El Salvador are well impressed with his financial acumen..... and the chump wants to make it legal tender

I don’t think Bitcoin will dip below 30k. Also the entire market has gone to crap which isn’t helping.

Biden making legislation over crypto may be a bigger issue and one which will receive a lot of push back aswell.

Its quite a scary ride in stocks and crypto. Looking at the usa they seem to be absolutely shitting themselves and for the first time its getting mirrored with bitcoin. Started to rise today then shot down quick, stocks and cryto, as soon as Powell spoke. It shouldnt be a surprsise that printing trillions cant last for ever and now youre in a massive bubble of housing and other over inflated items that will be fucked when interest rates rise if only 1 percent in a year?

Hold on to your hat.... of just keep gambling, maybe calling it right on the way back up :D

Isn’t bitcoin always talked up as the safe place to invest when other stocks are hit? Odd how it’s moving with the market then…

Yes, that's current reporting in the Financial Times. I'm talking about the way people have talked up bitcoin as a safe haven from the mainstream investment markets, the equivalent of gold, etc. Nobody seems to be saying that now. If it were regulated, that would have been mis-selling.

It’s all talked up on Twitter and social media, which is just full of moronic pages and Twitter feeds.

Whether it’s good or bad seeing Bitcoin as a safe place for cash it has certainly been safer than lots of other stocks and shares.

The problem being due to all the hype when it reached $60,000 many we’re seeing that as the new norm as apposed to just a healthy little jump.

Thats the entire point of Bitcoin though - it's not as though there's any actual product to go up or down in value!

Massive growth as more newbies buy up whatever Kim kardashian tweets them to, followed by massive drops when they don't truth into millionaires over night... and repeat.

Ever since youve been able to short it (2019?) its been in the hands of the money makers.

Bitcoin will still rise and rise because of the nature of what it is. People will die off losing their keys to fortunes and the supply will dwindle even with those alive forgetting how to access their wallets. Even small amounts, it will all add up.

The rest, apart from ethereum, may well vanish.

Another 15% and I’m back in the black.

RR took another dive last week though. Normally the threat of a good war sends them up

120,000 stolen bitcoin recovered in US. Stolen in 2016 when worth $71m, now worth $5 billion. Wonder if it will affect prices

It’ll probably boost the price as it “proves” that crypto is “safe”

Although that article doesn’t seem to say what will happen with the recovered coins ?

Well it does once again confirm that the whole anonymous bit of it is bollocks. It’s far more traceable than cash and if you piss off a government enough they will find you

Add to this what will happen with the rise in power costs that are needed to keep all it running (isn't the power draw for all crypto equivalent to Sweden or some other country?) someone has to pay the hosting costs? With no tangible product backing it up you could effectively just turn off the servers and it's dead if the cost of keeping it running outstrips it's value.
