Not that bizarre (and more common than you'd think) on a farm.
RPJ moved white goods cars towards being decent to drive across the board (or for some competitors, at least approaching decent to drive) so at least all of us or him a wee debt of gratitude.

Did some great stuff. I worked in the fleet office for a large company when the Mondeo came out and it was a superb "ordinary" car way better than its peers.
I also remember driving a demo Focus and being blown away by how well it drove. What a revelation that was after Escorts, Astra, Golfs etc.... One was ordered straight after and I thought it was ace!
He moved the game on enormously. RIP
