You change your work logon cos you have to. :geek:

You know you have done this. :ugeek:

You spend the next 24hrs typing in your old password EVERY FUCKING TIME before retyping your new one instead.

Expiring passwords is no longer considered good practice. Refuse to do it.

My last place they did away with password changes last year and replaced it with minimum 13 character passwords. :x

I changed mine on Monday. I'm still thinking the old password before remembering the new one. I'll settle for a long one (ooo, err) that doesn't change, over the faff of changing, then having to log into everything again with 2FA, etc.

New work password = the last one with the last digit incremented by one and a text file with all the other passwords in it. Because its still 1995 apparently.

How frequently do you have to do it? I need to use a Dutch government SharePoint site regularly for work and it requires a password change every 30 days :

Ours is monthly and as they seem to not like similar passwords my current one is 20 characters long.

It’s a faff.

Dave!

When I worked at places that did this I just changed it as it insisted then once it was happy I changed it straight back.

Yeah, 30 days is pretty standard policy, but like Tim says, this is a very old practice and not recommended these days.

Try something complex with symbols and numbers in place of letters, computer says no. Lose the will to live and enter Monday1, accepted. :D
