So, I'm back from Northland now, so can someone please explain to me why people drive less like arseholes up there? Sure, lorry drivers still elephant race with the best of 'em, but, with only a couple of exceptions, the driving up there is 20 times better than the average encounter on the M25 at rush hour...

But everyone knows the best thing to come out of Yorkshire is the road to Lancashire! (And yeah - When I was born, Barrow was in Lancs)

And yes, I noticed the driving within the M25 and in the deep south was by some margin worse than oop North.

I lived down south for 20 + years. I always let people out of junctions, etc, and they just sit there like lemons, as the fact that someone is being polite is simply too confusing to them.

So I eventually gave up and became a cunt as well.

Now that I regularly hammer up and down the A1M, you can definitely see a demarcation around Peterborough where people seem to be rather more self-important and cunty about their driving.

Once you start hitting Herts, all hell breaks loose. It's a warzone, bodies everywhere, the burnt out skeletons of Picassos littering the sides of the roads, marauding gangs of leather clad hooligans staking their claim on the wasteland that is Stevenage.

I rush through there, at speed, flashing people out of the way before peeling off to the gentler climes that are WGC, where the worst that happens is people are too fucking stupid to understand why doubleparking is a bad thing.

It's funny - in the North if you finish work a 5pm, you'll be out the door within 30 secs. Whereas down south people just keep working, hoping their boss fucks off home before they call it a day.

Yes, that occurs in literally 100% of all work situations without question or exception.
