We all know GG is having 9 portions of fish for Crimbo lunch but what's the rest of the forum going to enjoy today.

We're breaking from the usual turkey and having a reverse seared Ribeye roast with all the trimmings. Can't wait!!!

Boom. Same here. As far as I’m concerned, turkey is mostly like chicken, but not as nice. It’s not a treat.

Ended up my own today and hadn't really planned anything and want something I can cook quick so just having salmon with roast potatoes and green vegetables. For breakfast I made pancakes with smoked salmon which was good.

Full Christmas Dinner but chicken not Turkey! Gammon was done yesterday to be glazed today.

Did Danish Christmas yesterday (roast duck, white and brown potatoes, braised red cabbage, green salad (not traditional), and for pudding Riz a la Mande with hot cherry sauce).

Today is roast goose, roast potatoes, two types of stuffing, honey roast snips and rots, sprouts with chestnuts, cider braised red cabbage. Then Christmas pudding and mine pies.

Gammon for day after tomorrow.

I’m doing my usual smoked salmon, bought a side yesterday, usual overnight dry rub and then on the smoker since 10am. My dad does his usual roast potatoes and my mum hasn’t bothered doing anything as no one else is round. Also decided to give the whole stalk of sprouts to the goats as no one likes those either but they now seem to be suffering from much festive flatulence.

I’m making my own...

However, our disaster was yesterday when the large pot for the Gammon came in from the garage and was unusable. Some sort of staining that wouldn’t come off.

Thankfully, I’ve a mate who’s a chef so raided his kit and borrowed a big enough pot. (5kg Gammon)

That would have ruined Christmas for me, the Gammon’s the best bit

Sounds awesome, our Salmon will be roasted with black garlic salt which is outstanding stuff.

Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pigs in blankets, yourkshire puds etc etc. Lovely.

Cooked properly I’d rather have beef. Cooked how everyone else like it ( dry brown leather ) I’d rather have turkey 😂

yep, I like turkey cooked right, but it seems everyone on the internet (every single year) takes huge delight in telling everyone how they don't like turkey so everyone should have something else. It's Xmas - eat whatever you want!

Twrci with the usual trimmings here too. I don't get why we don't have it more often.

A good turkey is superb when cooked properly. And likewise not sure why it's not eaten more often.

Just realised we don’t have Christmas crackers
They’re shit anyway so I can’t lament it too much.

Could've gone over to Broccer's I suppose. Lots of gammon over there.

The day started off with a breakfast of mince pies and coffee. Lunch was turkey, pigs in blankets, roast spuds and a plethora of veggies. Two chocolate liqueurs so far this afternoon after a 40 mile burst around north-ish Derbyshire in the Porsche. Will start on an alcohol induced liver assault at around 5 o'clock and may have some Christmas pudding this evening.
