Good read as always. When did f40 prices got through the roof?

They’ve had a crazy rise. When I stopped selling specialist cars as my main job in mid 2012, any F40 above £300k would hang around the showroom for ages, unless it was a sub 5,000 mile non-cat, non-adjust sliding window version.

I don’t think any other Ferrari has moved anything like that % over the same time. It’s a shame, because you rarely see them used now.

Biggest mover has actually been the 288 GTO. They. went from under £200k in 2007 to over £2 mil by 2015.

From 2007, yes. By 2012 they were already around £1.2m
The rate of increase has probably been similar 2012 to today.
Genuine 1960s AC Cobras were probably the biggest gain of any car that I saw while doing this daily.

When people don’t actually drive them, the best looking cars always go up most.

Another interesting article. What are your thoughs on the reasons behind the slow sales of the DBX? Do you think it's likely to be because they're slow to ramp up the manufacturing / distribution or because of low demand? To me it seems the most appealing car in its sector, but I'm not in the market for one!

There are only two DBXs for sale on Auto Trader, and not at significantly discounted prices - indicates to me that they're not sticking around in stock so it's presumably just slow production.

My guess would be low demand given Stroll's comments about it being a "huge" success while provide zero hard facts. Given everything going on in the world, I cant imagine a $190k SUV from a financial troubled niche manufacturer is an easy sell right now.
